Snow Blossoms
It seems that these pink blossoms trigger snow each year. We've had no snow all winter in Albuquerque until this month -- now we've had two snows in eight days. On another note, NewMexicoPhotos is in the process of moving, and we may be without internet access for a while. So the posts may be few and far between for a couple of weeks.

Sandia Hairstreak Redux
A Sandia Hairstreak butterfly (Callophrys mcfarlandi) as it sits on a blade of beargrass. Although the common wisdom is that beargrass is exactly where these butterflies like to hang out, yesterday was the first time I actually saw one there. (You can see more photos of New Mexican butterflies here and here.)
